Virginia McMonagle forged a transnational link, dividing her time between Haiti and San Diego University, where she was an assistant to the Vice-President. Virginia's involvement came about in collaboration with Father William Wason. In 1986 this priest persuaded a reluctant Virginia to accompany him to Haiti, where he was going to explore possibilities.
